Everything You Need To Know About The 8 Most Popular Hermès Mini Bags
Hermès has been a channel favorite for a while because of the style, colors and quality of their handbags. And as the trend goes, handbags are becoming smaller and smaller which makes them more useless and more of a status symbol, but they look so adorable.
As with Hermès, information on mini bags can be hard to come by. You need to know what you are looking for or your SA won’t even make mention of those cuties. So let’s take a short look at the 8 most popular Hermès Mini bags.
Hermès Mini Evelyne (TPM)

The Mini Evelyne is said to be released in 1978 and was part of Hermès’ equestrian lineup intended to function as a tool-bag. These days I can’t think of anyone actually using the Evelyne for that purpose. The perforation assembling the big H logo provided ventilation and has become one of its biggest selling points.
Sized at 16 x 18 x 5 cm, the TPM (très petite model) is the smallest Evelyne model and has to make do without the exterior pocket that all the other Evelyne models are equipped with.
Most Evelynes come in Taurillon Clemence leather and cost $1800 (USD) but there are also felt versions. The shoulder strap is detachable, and most straps are plain and match the color of the leather. But there are also straps that carry different patterns and colors.
In general, the Mini Evelyne TPM comes in almost endless color and is a simple and understated, yet easily recognizable quality bag for everyday use.

Hermès Mini Bolide

Launched somewhen in the 2010s, the Mini Bolide or Mini Bolide 1923 dates back to 1923 and measures about 18,5 x 14,5 x 7,3 cm. The shell-style mini bag features 2 rigid handles and a removable leather strap. Since it is so mini, this Bolide doesn’t offer any compartments beside two small pockets on either side to hold cards or other small papers. The Mini Bolide 1923 is usually seen in goat skin or Evercolor leather and will cost you about 5000 USD before tax. If you can procure one of these minis in an exotic leather, that will of course cost a little bit more.

Hermès Mini Constance

Measuring 18 x 14,4 x 4 cm, the Mini Constance 18 is treated as a “quota bag” without technically being one. What that means is, that you have to spend a certain amount on other Hermès products in order to purchase this bag. But unlike a quota bag, there is no limitation as to how many of there you can purchase (given that availability and everything else works in your favour). The Constance is available in plenty of different leathers, from box to epsom to exotics, and a mirage of colors. There is probably no color combination you can think of that isn’t available in a Hermès Constance. The Constance 18 retails for about 7230 USD and unlike the Mini Bolide 1923, the Mini Constance 18 offers a structured and organized interior. Beside a divider creating two “large” compartments, it has a small pocket on the front- and backside of the interior.
Classic signatures of the Hermès Constance are the absence of top handles, making it a strap-only handbag, and the closure mechanism disguised within the H logo.

Hermès Mini Roulis

The Mini Roulis is more of an understated bag that is become increasingly more popular. Unlike many other Hermès handbags, the Roulis is not flaunting it’s Hermès heritage. You need to know what you’re looking at since there aren’t any H logos right up in your face.
At only 7“ x 6“ x 2.5“, the mini Roulis is similar in size the the Mini Constance 18 and offers even more practicality due to an added outside pocket on the backside of the bag. The Mini Roulis is in general very similar to the Mini Constance. Even the price of 7150 USD is almost identical with the Mini Constance, however the Mini Roulis is not treated like a quota bag which means that you can actually purchase this bag as long as it’s available.

Hermès Mini Verrou

The Mini Verrou has a very strong structured appearance, underlined by an almost industrial closure meachanism – a sliding lock you may have seen on some doors.
This mini bag measures only 6.7” x 5.5” x 1.7” and is offered in goat, calf, suede, box and others. Since the Mini Verrou is so slim, it only offers one exterior pocket on the back, one pocket under the flap and another pocket on the back of the inside beside the large main compartment. Priced at around 8000-9000 USD and with strap only, this very structured mini bag is very interesting and useful in everyday life without bragging to be a Hermès.

Hermès Mini Lindy

The Mini Lindy has made its way to be an all-time favourite amongst the mini Hermès bags. Its popularity has skyrocketed in the recent years despite the absence of big H logos and the limited availability. Priced at … USD and you have to get your name on an ever-growing waitlist to acquire a Mini Lindy.
It’s fair to say that the Lindy has a somewhat odd design. The two sturdy top handles are placed on the sides of the bag and they are coupled with a leather strap. The Mini Lindy version was added in 2019 and measures in at 7.5” x 4.9” x 3.5”. Most often you will see them in Clemence, Swift or Evercolor leather but as always with Hermès, those aren’t all of them. The Swift version comes in at 6500 USD while the Clemence Mini Lindy will cost 6100 USD.
The signature boxy shape offers maximum interior space complemented by interior pockets and two exterior pockets on the sides. The Lindy can easily be identified by its floppy top flap and the two oversized zipper pulls that act as a closure.
Out of these 8 mini Hermès bags, the Mini Lindy can fit the most and still look effortlessly chic.

Hermès Mini 24/24

The Mini 24/24 is the newest bag on this list. Introduced in 2020, right in the mini-bag-craze, this bag was doing pretty well so far. The flexible bag with top handle and shoulder strap offers a back pocket on the outside and a zipper compartment on the back side of the interior beside the main compartment. At 8.3” x 6.3” x 4.7” it rivals the Mini Lindy size-wise but overshadows it price-wise at 8100 USD.
Apparently, the opening is the weak spot of the bag as it’s fairly narrow. But then again, we don’t expect mini bags to be the most practical as mentioned in the beginning.

Hermès Mini Kelly

The Mini Kelly 20 will be the hardest mini bag to acquire on this list as it is a quota bag within the “Kelly” family of Hermès handbags. While the bag itself is “just” around 8000 USD, you will have to spend twice that or more before even being considered for one.
This mini bag measuring about 7.5” x 5” x 2.25” is more of a status symbol and fashion statement than an actual useful bag. But again, it’s luxury and as we all know, luxe doesn’t have to be practical.

Final Words
In conclusion, it is fair to say that not all mini bags are made equally. While some are clearly geared towards a little more practicality, others go full out statement. But when it comes to craftsmanship, they can compare to each other. It also came somewhat surprising that most of these mini handbags are priced in the same ballpark. You would think that Hermès would stagger its lineup more. In the end, none of these bags is something you can just walk into a boutique and take it home. They are all waitlisted and some even require a strong customer profile. On the upside, there are plenty of styles to choose from and they all come in countless colors so you can find what suits you most.
