Hermès 24/24 Mini In-Depth Review (24/24 21) + 6 Ways To Wear
Today we are taking a quick break from talking about a Birkin or a Kelly. But this does not mean we are abandoning all talks of our favorite brand. How could we, when their most “recent” (2018) release, the Hermès 24/24 Mini, is a captivating beauty? Touted as the next big thing after the ultra sought after Birkin and Kelly, the Hermès 24/24 does in fact have similar design aesthetics.

Like many luxury leather handbags before it, the Hermès 24/24 Mini is a style that can easily be worn by both men and women. Because of its gender-neutral appeal, many longtime Hermès collectors are quick to snap this baby up. So if you happen to be eying this scrumptious leather goodie, we got you.
Since its debut we’ve been drooling over the Hermès 24/24, although admittedly we did gravitate towards other pieces first *cough* Birkins *cough*. And here we are some years later, finally seeing the error of our ways. As you may have been able to tell, we have officially managed to get our well-manicured paws on the Mini 24/24 which was initially introduced in the fall collection of 2018.
Hermès 24/24 Mini: What to Expect
With a brand known for its exceptional craftsmanship, the demand for its posh goods is high. No matter what the luxe label churns out, loyal followers are eager to own it. This is particularly true when it comes to the release of new leather products. So, it really came as no surprise how quickly fans of this well-known Maison flocked to boutiques or called their SA for the Hermès 24/24 bag.
It’s true that this particular design did not make as much noise as its older siblings, but this is because too much of the spotlight is on the more iconic purses. Trust us when we say that the Mini 24 is hot on their tails. By now you must be wondering why we are so smitten by this unassuming handbag. Well, sit down coz you’re going to want to hear what we’ve got to say.
At a glance, the Hermès 24/24 Mini is a simple flawless leather purse. This is true, however, a closer inspection will reveal many well-thought-out details in a bag that is absolutely gender-neutral.

The Leather
The bag we have is made with a combination of Swift calfskin and Evercolor leather. Distinguishing between the two types is really easy. To start off, the two kinds of leather used can be told apart from their texture.
On the flap, we find a soft and smooth Swift leather while the rest of the body is covered in beautifully grainy Evercolor hide. Of the two, Swift was known formerly as Gulliver. It was discontinued in 1999 before eventually being reintroduced in 2005. A favorite textile, Swift’s smooth surface allows colors to be absorbed into the material effortlessly which explains why it is often used in the brand’s bags.
The more recent addition, Evercolor leather refers to a grainy but firm leather. It is generally used in small leather goods, this type of material came into play in 2013. What makes Evercolor unique is its matte appearance. No longer delegated to just small leather items, the use of this type of leather has transitioned to bigger goods like the Hermès 24/24 Mini.
How The Bag Is Built
Structurally, the Mini 24/24 has a high-low design with the back leather panel of the handbag cut higher and the front portion shorter. A spacious back pocket lets users store phones for easier access. There are also two metal rings fastened securely in place with leather strips that allow bag wearers to attach a longer strap to it – more on this later.

It comes with the brand’s iconic turn lock that twists 360 degrees. Upon opening the Hermès 24/24, we are greeted with a roomy interior and an inner zippered pocket that happens to be as deep as the back panel. Unlike the bigger purse designs from the label, the bag’s base comes without the metal feel. Nonetheless, its bottom panel is sturdy enough to hold the contents without resulting in unsightly sagging.

Removable Shoulder Strap
Other than the obvious top handle, this gorgeous bag as previously mentioned comes with additional straps that can be used in a variety of ways. And oh wow, it totally blew our minds how we managed to turn this one bag into six different wearable styles! Who can say NO to half a dozen bags for the price of just one? Definitely not us!
Of course, we aren’t about to leave you high and dry. We know how eager you are to see the 6 Ways To Wear the Hermès 24/24 Mini. Like always, our job is to keep you guys up to date and in the know about all things luxe and all things Hermès.
6 Ways To Wear the Hermès 24/24 Mini Bag
Luxury items do not come cheap, this is a fact. Which is why many people who do not have disposable income, think long and hard when it comes to selecting which item from a design house they are willing to invest in. Rarely do we come across a high-end bag that gives us multiple looks which is why we are so giddy with excitement to show you these 6 wearable styles that make this bag such a good purchase.
#1: Crossbody
Our chosen Mini is the perfect size to wear as a crossbody bag. Keep your belongings closer to your person by attaching the straps to the metal hoops and wearing it crossbody style.

This look is great for people on the go who are looking to have their hands free to carry other items or do other tasks without worrying about their bag. Personally, we prefer to have the bag sit at around the waist-hip area. You can wear it shorter or longer by adjusting the straps.
#2: Shoulder Bag
Prefer something a bit less casual? Just loop the straps twice to get a double strap aesthetic and also to shorten it to your desired length.

We opted to have the bag hang comfortably midway down our torso. Again, this is a personal preference, adjust to your liking.
#3: Belt Bag
Yes, you definitely read right. The Hermès 24/24 bag can be worn as a bougie fanny pack. We know that the words “fanny pack” and ”classy” don’t exactly belong together. But that’s only coz you haven’t seen the bag in action.

Hear us out before you balk at the size of our fashionable leather belt bag. We know that it is a tad bigger than most belt bags and may not be ideal when your bag is filled to the brim. Nonetheless, it’s another great way to have your hands free and the cash close by when you are volunteering at your kid’s school bake sale. It’s also a secure alternative when you are touring attractions and popular destinations while traveling abroad. Don’t knock it, ‘til you’ve tried it, ladies and gents!
#4: Backpack
Mini backpacks were all the rage, and although the trend has died out immensely, it was not eradicated completely. Change up your backpack game with this 24/24 bag from Hermès.

It took us a few tries to get our straps situated. If you are a bit of a girl scout or simply know your way around ropes and knots then you might be able to get a hang of it faster than we did. Hey, don’t worry we’re not here to ask why your rope tying skills are par excellence. We saw that 50 Shades movie too..
#5: Handbag
This is a no-brainer given how the bag comes with a sturdy top handle. With its well-built structure and large interior, toting the bag by its handle shouldn’t pose any problems. Thanks to its sleek design, the 24/24 Mini from Hermès is one stylish handbag to wear to work or to lunch out with friends.

#6: Clutch
A little unconventional but again fashion has always been about pushing boundaries. So who says we can’t wear this fab leather piece as a clutch?

We suggest keeping the removable straps inside the bag so that you can switch from clutch to crossbody when the drinks start to flow.
Back to the Basics
We wouldn’t call this bag entry-level albeit a lower price tag than the elusive Birkin or Kelly bags from Hermès. The 24/24 Mini we are proud owners of comes in a newly launched size – a 21. At the moment, the bag is priced at $8,100 USD, in comparison to the slightly bigger 29 which is roughly $8,700 USD.
Should you buy the bag? YES! If you are fortunate enough to be offered this bag by your SA, we definitely believe it is something worth investing your money in. After all, you would be hard-pressed to find several Hermès bags for the price of one. Think of it as the drag queen of bags who can switch characters before Ru Paul can say “Sashay Away!”
